Gratifying compliments on the best gastronomic Guides for the restaurant La Boule: Italian Touring Club 4 forchette; Veronelli 78/100 ; Gault Milau 12/20; Espresso 14/20; at the top in the "Guide to the restaurants" of Como and Lecco. The team-cooking of the restaurant La Boule of the Casinò, directed since 1995 by the executive chief Cesare Chessorti, is composed by eighteen cooks, among them there are three confectioners. This restaurant has received many compliments."La Boule" is in the Parties room of the Gambling House. Jack Pot an American bar restaurant in the American games room: it is for the gourmets. At the restaurant La Boule you can taste great risotto... risotto with marrows whipped with virgin olive-oil and with burrata and summer truffle. Risotto with basil and parsley with roasted prawns, skilfully prepared by the chef Marino Roncoroni, a superlative element in a wonderful cooking team. Fresh and filled pasta: like a painter's palette the choice for the preparation of fresh and filled pasta is exciting and wide. You have for example: pies filled with potatoes and pecorino perfumed with mint, fresh saffron noodles with squids, marrows and pachino tomatoes, garganelli sautés with tuna, dry tomatoes perfumed with ginger and lemon, skilfully prepared by the chef Vittorio Luppi, a young cook. Fish which is traditionally very delicate and complex is very fresh in the Casinò restaurant and the chef Gian Carlo Bracco draws up the fish without fear and with a great success, by enhancing the flavours and the quality. Brill with marrows, stewed mussels with saffron, brandy prawns with asparagus and mimosa in a yoghurt sauce.
The dessert is now able to overcome the pleasant end of a lunch or a dinner. The rich offer of sweets becomes the protagonist of the meal. "I would like a cake: the three confectioners of the Casinò will satisfy your wishes". Meringue with ice-cream, double cream with berries and pistachio ice-cream. The other two restaurants Jack Pot and Seven Eleven cook quickly but with ability: spaghetti sea-food, octopus mixed with oil and pepper, fillet of beef in a parmigiano-rind on layers of asparagus.

For the inhabitants of Campione this restaurant has always been a synonym of good cookery and cosy atmosphere. It is a well-patronized restaurant where one is at ease. In the first years of the twentieth century it was a café and a billiard-room, a local and well-patronized place.Soncini family arrived in 1939 and had passion for Milanese and lake cooking traditions. At present they offer an appreciated cooking, esteemed all over the region. Many famous guests from the show and sports business went to the restaurant Taverna: Totò's with his friend Franca Faldini, the baron Von Thyssen, Mrs Lupescu with the king of Rumania who ate always the risotto with calf's liver fried with onions.The famous goalkeeper Buffon appreciated the meat-loaf with salad and boiled potatoes, Johnny Dorelli and Masiero always dined here during their tournées. Soncini family holds the reins of the restaurant in 2000, all his family works there, keeping the same atmosphere, but bringing new ideas and freshness to the proven mastery.

The restaurant is named Candida after the woman who symbolized the cooking tradition of Campione. Candida ran the restaurant for over half a century, by receiving many families from Campione and from Lugano. In 1948 she rebaptized the restaurant "da Candida" and in those years the reputation of her cooking crossed the borders of the nations. When Candida died, after the retreat of her daughters, the old and small trattoria became a well-known restaurant all over the world: nowadays it is called "Antica Trattoria da Candida 1886". At present the restaurant is managed by Bernard Fournier and his wife Adriana, and boasts a prestigious star in the Michelin guide. In this restaurant you can find the home-made foie-gras with a patent (le Royal Fournier) in France in 1994 and since November 3rd this patent has been turned into European, Swiss and world-wide one.

The restaurant "La Barchetta" was opened in 1973 by Mr. Amedeo Bottari who ran it until 1989. It was one of the few restaurants with alive music, with national and international musicians and singers. Its cooking was excellent: the main course was fish. La Barchetta became very famous. Renzo Arbore and his band always dined there when they were in Campione. Big Charles Aznavour dined there and sang by charming the guests with the French melody of his songs. The group "I Nomadi" have recently dined in this restaurant many times.
From 1999 to 2001 the restaurant closed and opened in 2003. At present Mr. Giovanni runs the restaurant and he suggests fish, the famous home-made lasagne and the excellent grilled meat ... and in order to end a pleasant lunch or dinner Mr. Giovanni'wife offers the delicate and soft chocolate cake with fresh ingredients.
